I mean the nutz on the lower A-arms? I'm buying and impact so I need buy a socket big enough for them BIG NUTZ. Now that I have my work bench set up in my garage I'm going to tear apart those suburban A-arms and get them ready for sandblasting.

1 and 1/8, I think. The uppers are the same. I just finished my frontend rebuild last night. If no one confirms the socket size, I'll try to remember to confirm it tonight by looking at the socket I bought. If you don't get an answer, email me. I forget stuff.

I've bought a 14 piece set of impact sockets and an industrial 240 ft/lbs of torque impact!!!

That should get them big nutz off. :p

The nuts are the least of your worries...

The bushings will be the challenging part.

I was lucky. My neighbor used to own a frontend shop, and offered to do them for me at his old shop. He said that a good quality impact hammer is essential, though.

The bushings have not been a problem so far. Well I did break one drill bit.

My problem will be installing the new sets of bushings. What type of bushings did you use? Did you tap the A-arms for zerks? I'm thinking about tapping them for greasing.
Think I may get some help in installing the new bushings? Looks like I'll need a press or a good vice.

I went with moog bushings. Mine is a daily driver, so I wanted it to ride smootha and be quiet.

I have not heard of drilling and tapping them for zerk fittings. I didn't do it. Maybe that is to help keep the polyurethane bushings from squeaking?
