Having some issues

Ok well I'm currently working away and I'm having a few issues..

One is setting up my parking brake cable I had one made up at 116" that being the longest option. I managed to get the two rear hooked up and the front two tensioners and it seems that there's no slack for the adjust or two hook style tensioners. And advice on this? Lwb

Also I have a few mystery parts that I will post pictures about as soon as I can.
I'd like to get my brake system done this weekend.

Also I have a 283 with 305 heads and no one seems to carry a pull for this truck will any sbc pully work?

What kind of faster is used for the voltage regulator are they a screw type to the rad support?

I think you should have a rod about 14 - 18 inches long and two short pigtail pieces that route the cable along the frame.

Any SBC pulley should fit your 283.

The regulator screws are a small machine screw and the nuts are enclosed in rubber grommets called "well nuts" that fit in the three holes in the core support. You can buy the mounting kits from any parts vendor.

Re: Having some issues

I have all those and the tensioner but even without the pigtails the nut is on the last few threads of the tensioner.

If you have all of the correct rods and brackets the cable must be too short.... Did you replace any of the other cables?

Re: Having some issues

Trying to gravity bleed brakes, pumping the brakes tried, sucking on the lines and I'm getting no fluid through them yet I can see bubbles come out when I pump the brakes with the one man bleeder when I first started. Now when I crack the bleeder it sucks half the fluid in the bottle into the line any advice? Been at it for a day and a half on one wheel. I did get the parking brake hooked up though.

Re: Having some issues

Don't mean to but in but I've had problems getting the parking brake cable set up also. I have bought several different length cables and none work. The only picture I have been able to find is in the LMC catalog. If anybody has info on parking brake installation, I'd appreciate it. I think we both would. Me and Mr Hyde.

Is the cable coming off the pedal the same for all trucks? Mine is a 71 Jimmy.

Re: Having some issues

I had a 116" made up and put the man and rod style tensioners on first the the two rear wheels and after that the pig tail tensioners that went almost right under the rear cab mounts.
