New from Missouri
Hello, my name is Joey and I hail from NW Missouri. I haven't been on a forum for quite a few years but now that my son is of driving age we have a project together. Not a stranger to 67-72 trucks but I am rusty. My son and I are putting together a '68 c10 longbed on the cheap. A little back story is I helped a friend put together a 71 he was building for his buddy that had cancer. After getting it together he gave me his 68 parts truck with a title. He needed all the v8 stuff leaving the truck minus motor mounts and trans mounts. So this is a budget build daily driver. I found a good running 305 with a 700r4 for $200. I used this link http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=128765 to mod some '82 motor mount towers and it worked pretty good. Now I just have to do some forum searching to find what I need to do the 700r4 adaptation. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum from Lenexa, KS. You're among friends here. You might want to look up board member Blazerman in St. Joe. He's a long-time member here.
Now that the niceities are out of the way...

Re: New from Missouri
Thanks for the info on local members it may aid me in my quest to find parts. I haven't taken too many photos yet, at this point we are just getting the truck put together and driveable. The truck still has non-power drum brakes all around but it is all new. I told my son we would convert to front power disc in the future. Then the cosmetics will come later. I just ordered a crossmember for the tranny and had the driveshaft shortened and rebuilt yesterday. A few "pichers"

Re: New from Missouri
Thanks, I have a found a ton of useful info on this site. The 68 I'm putting together for my boy, will be no where near as beautiful as most the trucks on this site but I was glad to be able to save it from the salvage yard and give it another life with my son. I told him its not a restore just a revive.
