Dual Exhaust

Someone said the other day that dual exhaust wasn't available from the factory. I said it was, but wanted to back that up, so:

According to the GM Heritage center, option L47 was the 400V8 (big block). A few notes:

- Includes four barrel carb and dual exhausts
- Not available with 4-speed
- Not available in California on the C10s (ok on C20 and C30)

So, dual exhaust was indeed available and apparently standard with the big block. Mine has hangers on both sides of the frame, and from other posts it appears not all do. So maybe they riveted on the hangers only if you had dual exhaust.

The whole big block package included HD springs, dual exhaust, and a couple of other items and was only $169. Even if you think of that as $1700 today that's not bad. Except for fuel economy who wouldn't?

Re: Dual Exhaust

Dual exhaust was never an option. It came on all big blocks and was unavailable on everything else.

Re: Dual Exhaust

Interesting info, thanks. I was the guy wondering about those brackets being on both sides of the frame...sounds like it may be tough for me to come up with some.
