Dip Stick for TH400 trans
Just got my TH400 back from the trans shop. It didn't have a dip stick when I purchased it from Bishops International. Got a universal one from the trans shop but, not happy with the way it mounts. It requires a two piece mount that is different from stock. I don't like it. Looking for one that will mount to bell housing like original. Found one at autozone from that is supposed to be like the original one. Here is a link to it
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=309903_0_0_ Does anyone have experience with this. Would really like to find an original, GM factory stick if I could but, realize it may be hard to find. If anyone knows where I can find one or, if the one I gave the link to will work without wierd, two piece brackets to mount. Thanks for any help. |

Re: Dip Stick for TH400 trans
One thing I just noticed is that, the one from autozone uses an o-ring. I've heard those are not the hot setup due to leaking. The universal one I have uses a press in rubber seal. Not sure if I'm going to order one of these or not.

Re: Dip Stick for TH400 trans
You can still get those from a GM parts counter. Just tell them you have something like a 79 C10 with an M40 transmission.
