TJ, if you come pick this bumper in person you can have it for NOTHING, but it has to be picked up cause I hate dealing with shipping.
A gauntlet has been thrown down!

The original 250's been swapped for a 230?

I haven't ran the numbers, the former stated that it was a 230 and the owners manual shows 230's as being available in 66'.

Re: My first 60-66 Step Side!

AFAIK the 230 was just a van/stepvan/car thing in '66, same as the little 153 four cylinder was. The 250 was at least the standard truck engine in '66, and it would be kind of odd that someone special-ordered one with the weaker engine (IMO).

Maybe I should look under the hood and check.

NO!!!!!! You'll ruin the mystery if you do that!

My bet is that the PO probably just didn't know that the '66 trucks came with 250's.

You're probably right, he also thought the caps that were on it were correct.

Re: My first 60-66 Step Side!

Let me just say that I like that one a lot. If it was a big back window short stepside I would like it a good bit more but I have had vehicles from California before and they have all been super solid. Please do me a favor and keep me in mind if you decide to sell this one. PM me about it if it comes up for sale. I rarely stray from the 73-87 side but the 64-66 trucks have always been my favorite body style of all Chevys. I have never owned one and have been looking around a little lately.
