Installing bed cross sills

Should I use rubber cushions between the cross sills and the frame? The assembly manual doesn't show any. I can't remember them being there when I tore the bed a part. But the bed was in pretty sad shape and they may have rotted away before I got it.

Re: Installing bed cross sills

I installed them only where the bolts go through the bed floor to the frame.

Re: Installing bed cross sills

My concern with using them is that I am going to have to shim up the cab extra for there thickness.

yes there are pads for this, look at almost any parts retailer and they should have them. THis makes the bed quieter with less creaks and squeaks.

Re: Installing bed cross sills

I looked at the pads. There is eight pads in the set. I have a long bed. If I counted right I should need 10.

Re: Installing bed cross sills

I considered using them (or something), but didn't bother. Bed lines up perfectly with the cab. There was nothing in there when I took the bed off, and I'm pretty sure it had never been off since new...
