Fender Braces
Anyone know where to purchase the front fender braces that bolt to the radiator support? haven't had any luck finding new unless buying a complete radiator support. can you run with out them?
Also looking for a right side bed/running board apron bracket that bolts to the apron and the running board. Used is good also if anyone has extra laying around. Thanks Mike |

Re: Fender Braces
I don't remember seeing repro front fender braces. I'd have to go out and look at the apron bracket but I think you can fab one up.
Here are some photos of the bracket for the apron on the long bed running boards that I paid way way too much for because I was in a hurry and I still haven't done anything with them. http://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr4...?sort=4&page=1 I think if you sliced a length of 1inch square tubing in half that had about 1/8 in wall you could bend some up in short order I can trace one on a sheet of paper and scan it if you think that might help.

Re: Fender Braces
Mike,
Check with Tom at Trick Trucks and Rods. http://www.tricktrucknrod.com/hh/Stu...n?refresh=true I bought some inner fender braces from him earlier this year and he probably has more. Hope that helps! |

Re: Fender Braces
That's one area where I'd rather be over cautious and run them rather than optimistic and not run them and end up with cracks from the fenders flopping a bit. I've found out the hard way in the past that the factory put every brace on these trucks for a reason and any that are missing allow one part or an assembly to move and flex. It also helps cut down on squeaks, rattles and alignment problems on the nose.

Re: Fender Braces
I never reinstalled the front or rear fender braces on my truck 20 years ago. No issues.
