60-63 trucks with metal framed door glass question

Just about at the point to start disassembly on the doors for paint. Have located all new gaskets and seals for the doors. Question is the division bar....I only see the felt with the two sided tape for the metal framed glass. Does anyone have a source for the division bar felts that press in as opposed to the stick on version?

This is for my 63 stepside.

1st pic is what I have....2nd pic is the style I'm looking for. I've checked all the usual vendors and can't seem to find them. I do see a 55-63 (2nd series).....that may work as I think a lot of them had the metal frames.

I used the felt type on my 63 w/ metal frames. worked great. sprayed on contact cement on back side of felt placed it in had a little time to maneuver it around before it setup.

Thanks....that may be the way to go then. I'm wondering if the framed windows received this style of liner on the division bars due to the added thickness of the frames and the standard glass got the push in style of liner.

I checked through my literature and couldn't find any specific reference to them.

Also looking for the inner door panel seal. Starts about mid way up the door and seals the inner panel to the door. (visible on the inner door in this pic)

I have 61 (framed glass) & 62/63 doors at home. On my doors, the framed glass has the felt/mohair style liner and the standard glads doors has the thicker liner. So I think its correct.

The window channel felt shown in the 2nd pic in your 1st post, I believe is for the upper and rear channel, not the division bar. In the past the division bar replacement was a rigid piece with new felting that was installed with rivets. Member Alans Classic did a writeup here on rebuilding the wingwindow, that should shed some light on this.

The 2nd item shown is what all the catalog companies are selling for the standard glass division bars. The pics above are from classic parts. My metal framed glass division bars (1961) still have the original felting which is the thin style. My 63 doors are standard glass and have the thicker style.

I'm familiar with the upper and back door felting and agreed it looks the same. I just know that everyone only offers the stick and peel style for metal lined windows. I'll try and get some pics of the different year division bar felts tonight that I have for reference....at least in my applications and what I have.

The glass frames are cleaning up nicely.

here's what i have off a 65 w/o frame division bar. got my inserts from precsion brand,snug no glue required. put my SS trim back on and trim the excess... ps i see ur missing one of the two gas tank sending unit wire clips, hehe...

But you have standard glass in the 64-66's....I don't think the metal frames were optioned for those years. Was trying to find a "deluxe" style for the metal frames....not just the paste and stick felts.

was GMC's that way? maybe you can cross ref. those type...

Hmm....worth a shot. I honestly don't know, but I don't see anything listed specifically through the 15-20 usual venders I use.

Does anyone know if the GMC had the framed glass option?
