Which brakes do I have?

I've been looking to buy new front brake hoses for my '87 R10 Custom Deluxe on stylintrucks.com. The problem I'm having is they're listing hoses for trucks that have 11" x 2" brakes or 11 5/32" x 2 3/4" brakes. How do I know which brake package I have? Is their an RPO code or anything I need to look for?

Re: Which brakes do I have?

Remove a rear wheel and drum and measure is the most exact way to find out.

I need to measure the rear drums to figure out which brake hoses I need for the front?

Re: Which brakes do I have?

I know it sounds strange.
I needed new front calipers and brake hoses for my 83 C20 and the part number mattered for what brakes I had, and what rear axle.
Since i have the big heavy duty 13" rear brakes, that told me the whole truck had the heavy duty parts, so different calipers and hoses.

Thanks for the help! I went and check the codes in my glove box and I have 9J50 power brakes. I've done some searches, does that mean I have JB5 brakes?

Re: Which brakes do I have?

Probably. It's the most common system for an R10.

Here is the brake system release chart for 1987. See if this helps (they are released by GVW).

Re: Which brakes do I have?

I checked my GVWR in my door jamb and it says 5200 lbs. Looking at the chart I assume that would mean its not the JB5 and should have the 11"x2" rear brakes?

Re: Which brakes do I have?

Yes - sounds like you have the JB3 brakes.
