Re: correct wheels
the 6 lug wheels are interchangeable for many years. Chevy has used that pattern as far back as the 30's-40's I believe. Standard 64-66 wheel will have the three nubs for the hubcaps and a date code is probably the best you can do. 64-66 will interchange as well as fitting 60-63.

Re: correct wheels
1964 is an in between year for a few things as with wheels . On the Lambrecht trucks I notice 2 different valve stem sizes. Earlier 1961-1963 large valve stem hole wheels carried into 1964 . Then some 1964s had the 1964-1966 small valve stem wheels . There will be no outside markings or stampings by the valve stem at all on an original 1960-1966 wheel. In 1967 they started using a letter code and date by the valve stem . The markings your looking for will be between the beads with the date stamp on assembly line wheels. Over the counter 61-64 wheels can still have the large valve stem but later dates. These will be stamped 15x5 and a real small date of "63" for early built 1964s or a "64" . If you need pictures of a true 1964 wheel I can post.

Re: correct wheels
What are the markings for each year model or type of wheel, between the beads?
Where does one find such information, anyway? GM parts catalog? -W |

Re: correct wheels
Can you post the picture of the wheel markings? This would help us to get the correct wheel identification. Thanks

Re: correct wheels
To simplify things a bit you mostly see Kelsey Hayes made wheels . We are talking 1964 15 inch here so the markings will be the KH stamp and GM stamp on the face or center hub by lug holes. My 1964 Lambrecht truck has 15x5 1/2 wheels with the larger .625 valve stem hole. Im still trying to figure out the 15x5 VS 15 1/2 wheel application . Ive seen both and have both . Much of this comes from GM parts books, or better, from original un touched trucks with all five matching rims. I notice 1962 and early 1963 rims do not have a bead lock on the outer edge and these are 15x5 wide , but then two others, one 1963 with guaranteed with original rims and a 1964 both have bead locks and the 1964 is a 15x5 1/2. Presumably the one is a later 1963. Below are pictures of one wheel from a 1964 Lambecht trucks spare tire wheel. Its hard to see the "1/2 after the 15 but this is a 15 1/2 inch wide wheel.
