Re: inline 6 pix
I've got a 235 in mine from the PO that i haven't yanked yet. I say that because its not OE so may or may not have what your looking for. What angles/things are you looking for and I'll try to get some pics after work.

Re: inline 6 pix
There are still a number of guys on here with stock engines in their trucks. I couldn't direct you to who has them though.

Re: inline 6 pix
I got a 59 a while back with the 235.... under the hood is abit rough looking and would like to clean it up and make it as original as i can. Ive seen them painted grey, green, blue and orange....not sure what is right.... plus, it has no oil filtration system! Orrie's previous post helped very much with the diagram.... would just like to see what the whole thing is suppose to look like when original or close to it

Re: inline 6 pix
Not exactly stock. But getting to be more rare. In my '54. It was blue originally, but I added a little life to the color. Mine doesn't have an oil filtration system either. Just have to change it more often. Not a big fan of drilling holes into an engine block that has survived just fine for 60 years without it.

https://www.google.com/search?q=235+...ed=0CAcQ_AUoAg
also stovebolts.com is a good site for stock trucks. inlinner.org good for performance in line engines.

Re: inline 6 pix
This is NOT a picture of a 235; but it is a Chevy straight six. It's a 250 in a '67 C10 but I was so impressed with how great it looked I've saved it. Yeah, it's "billeted out" but I still love it. If my '55 had come with a six I'd have definitely kept it.....I'm in no rush that I must have a V8.

Re: inline 6 pix
Thx for the pix and links... I noticed quite a few of these engines w/o an oil canister filter setup.... wasnt this a factory stock item? Was it a dealer installed option? Ive been a V8 chevy guy my whole life, and seeing an engine with no oil filter is kinda foreign to me. Is it ok to just run it with no filter and just change the oil more often, as an earlier poster mentioned?

Re: inline 6 pix
That's how they did it back in the day. I think probably non-detergent oil was used, but I'm not really sure on that, as mine has the filter.

Re: inline 6 pix
Dealer or after market option. If AC probably came from the dealer, Fram was a popular aftermarket. You can get aftermarket remote spin on adaptor too. Original 55 265 V8 did not come with the cast cannister either, it used the remote. Lots of early VW guys used them too.
