Re: 63 Truckamnio? on local CL, not mine
it looks like it was an avalanche-style-truck attempt gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Re: 63 Truckamnio? on local CL, not mine
I bet he got to the point where he started wondering about a windshield to fit the chop and bailed.

Seen this type of scenario for sale before. Some chops it's best to cut the windshield first and form pillars and roof to it

Re: 63 Truckamnio? on local CL, not mine
I keep trying to rationalize that it might not be horrible, like if you just wanted a beater truck to bomb around in, then I look at the details and go right back to "Man what a POS". I especially love how the front clip curves upwards away from he cowl.

Re: 63 Truckamnio? on local CL, not mine
The age old rule is never buy a chopped anything that doesn't have glass in it. I've seen several in wrecking yards over the years because glass either couldn't be fitted, or it was going to cost a fortune to go through several windshields trying to trim them down to fit.

Re: 63 Truckamnio? on local CL, not mine
I like 'em stock, but if I squint, I can kinda see where he was goin' with it, and it doesn't look too bad. The sad thing I see here is that the mock-up stage was done with sheet metal and a wire welder as opposed to cardboard and tape.
A potentially successful custom just got ahead of itself. |
