Thinking of getting away from the 64 gmc.
So am i just being dumb or just thinking to much??? A buddy of mine has a 68 chevy c20 396/400'big back window, a/c cab long bed, and power brakes that is all original runs and drives. I dont like the fact that its a c20 but he does have a c10 frame in the yard. Not sure why i've been thinking about this but i know i could sell the 64 gmc and buy the 68 chevy for a good price swap out sup or frame do the brakes. fuel tank and have less in the 68 then what i could get out of the 64. So am i a dumbass for wanting to or not?
I love the gmc and ive done a lot to it to make it what i want but ive always had a soft spot for the 67-68 chevy. A 72 is what i learned to drive in. hell maybe im just thinking out oud here??

That C20 sounds pretty interesting as-is. Got pics? All orig with A/C and PB? ...what about Auto and PS? Nothing wrong with a truck that has real capability. I'd think twice about trading a truck you love for a major project.

396bb, 400 tranny, pb, a/c (but compressors missing with brackets) dash has the factor tach! Not sure about ps i forgot to look. I did go get pics. It's a little rougher then I was thinking it was but wouldn't be as much work as the 64 gmc was.

this is just me and my opinion so take it with a grain of salt but i would have a hard time trading a short bed any thing for a long bed

Yeah that's my biggest problem. That and the cab light.

Re: Thinking of getting away from the 64 gmc.
it is a cool truck with some neat options i see why you want it. as for the cab lights thats what a welder is for. a c20 would make a good hauler if you dont already have one. i just dont know if i would trade my short bed. maybe if it was a running driver that was in the same or better shape than the 64. you could always do what i do tell her you where given the c20 then she would have to let you keep both

Re: Thinking of getting away from the 64 gmc.
Well i sleep on it last night and i think it would be kool as hell to have the 68 c20 BB but i've done so much to mine and found all the good parts to put it together i think id be a fool to get rid of her now.
I've already done all the hard part now its time to drive and enjoy. beside i do have the wife's 65 plymouth fury III 2 door hard top BB 4speed posi to work on. and all ready told her that when we were done with hers i had plans to upgrade my motor and trans. cause i wasn't going to have a mopar beat the truck. But that will have to be another day. Thanks for all the advice. Even though i have a soft spot for the 67-72 i know my truck in and out.
