Rear axel advice needed

Will a 14 bolt SF rear axel from a 1975 bolt up to a 1986 with the same axel? The right axel bearing went in the semi floater, in my 86 GMC 2500 4x4, and it looks like axel tube is ruined. I am having trouble finding a replacement axel except for one from a 1975.

Did GM make any changes in the axels or frame widths, shock mount locations, or any other areas that would be different between the two years?

Can the axel tubes be repaired?

Thanks in advance for any info!

1/2ton & 3/4 ton used the same width spring perches,1 tons where different. Ive swapped semi float from 81 to 87 no prob. 75 should be the same too.

They never put a 14 bolt SF in a 75, so it was more than likely swapped out of a newer truck anyway. It should work just fine. Even if it's a 14 bolt FF, it will still bolt up just fine if it's out of a factory 3/4 ton.
