Options: 6 cyl SWB's Vs BB LWBs.

Just wondering?

If you had the choice between two trucks and condition of both is equal which would you pick.

It's between a 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree, SWB truck or a BB automatic LWB truck.

Just a question I have struggled to answer myself. I know SWB truck command a premium price and usually BB trucks do too.

Remember, This is more a matter of personal opinion rather than Value.

BB LWB already has the motor I want and body work costs the same can save some money

I buy what I like,so it would depend on which one I'd rather have t the time. I don't get excited over big blocks. In fact,the big block deters me. So,I'd take the SWB 6cyl. My preference in long beds is C/20s and shortbeds is SWB anyway,not that I wouldn't have a long C/10

I'm in kinda the same spot. If not going to use as a daily driver then BB LWB gets my vote. If I plan to drive it a lot the the 6 cylinder SWB gets it. I'm not too hung up on one or the other.

Although I will say that a 6 cylinder SWB with 3.73:1 gears get about 12-15 mpg according to a few buddies who own them. Maybe they don't have them tuned right. I get 10-11 mpg with my BB LWB.

I bought mine not for the BB but because I like LWB trucks. Like my grandpa taught me. If you can't put a 4X8 sheet of plywood and close the tailgate without it hanging out it's not a practical truck to own for work.
