I guess you guys didn't read that muffler flow comparison that Car Craft did a few years back. They tested all of the popular mufflers on a flow machine and completely debunked the glasspacks are restrictive theory.

They found that glasspacks flowed as well as pretty much any other muffler.

Anyone who really believes they will get a 15% horsepower gain through free flowing mufflers has bought into the hype surrounding them. Seriously, that would be anywhere from 35-75 horses on a street engine.

Thumbs up glasspacks

I had glass packs on my truck when I first got it I put them out the back with 3inch pipe to the rearend and then 2 1/2 to the back with 3 inch crome tips and the sound was perfect loud and full of rumble. I also had them out the side before the tire with three inch pipe way to loud but cool. Right now I have 22 inch long smittys glasspacks sound old school dumped and header electronic openers for the loud noise. but its up to you, I think flows sound weak they are good for newer trucks not old good luck on a hard choice.

Magnaflows, baby!

They have that deep throaty roar that sound like the old muscle cars. No offense to the people that like Flowmasters, but they are way too abrasive/harsh sounding to my ears. Not to mention everybody's runnin' em.

I LIKE THE FLOWMASTERS. IT JUST DEPENDS ON WHAT SOUND YOU LIKE AND YOUR POCKET BOOK.

I had 2 chamber flowmasters on my truck for the last 7 years. I liked them when I was younger but I tore them off last week because I couldn't take the noise anymore. They are loud.

I just bought some turbo mufflers from Summit racing for $15 each! They sound great and you can't beat them for the price. I actually feel like there is a little more power now. If you want a good mellow sound for cheap get these.

I have glasspacks on my truck and flows on my Chevelle.

I feel that the sound coming from the flows belong on the built Velle while the sounds from the glasspacks work very well on my 'ol primered pick'mup truck.

My next truck will have flows because I personally believe that they just sound better than glasspacks and give it more of a "tuned" or "classy" sound.

If you go with glasspacks and want them louder, turn them backwards. Depending on the ones you get, it allows the gasses (sound) to travel over the pockets that trap the sound. Closer to straight pipes.
