DRW to SRW Questionnaire

Working on a '96 C3500 crew cab long box that is my newer acquired turd to my fleet Long story but I'm looking into possibly converting this dually into a single rear wheel truck. I know most all the basics behind all this and mostly asking to reassure myself. The truck has 3" Belltech drop spindles and from what I've found the spindle is the same for a single wheel and dual wheel truck. Also looking into my catalogs(I sell auto parts for a living) it looks like the bearings are the same ID for the spindle on single and dual truck. Other than the brake rotor wheel mounting surface they are very similar.
So can a simple rotor swap make the truck into a single wheel?

On the rear I know the dually 14 bolt is narrower than SRW. Mainly wondering if the spring plate width is the same on a DRW and SRW 14 bolts. My truck currently has 4.10s and I'd love some higher gearing to be able to stretch its legs some more than 65mph @ 3200rpm on the old big block.
Can a 14 bolt(preferred full floater) SRW be bolted right back in place of the DRW?

Thanks a lot fellas

Re: DRW to SRW Questionnaire

Should work, the 4WD's use a spacer for front on a dually setup.
Since both use the same frame and connection points, I don't know why the rear end shouldn't be a bolt-up deal.

Re: DRW to SRW Questionnaire

2wd- get SRW front rotors

4wd, un bolt DRW adapter from hub

Both, Get SRW Rear Axle, as long as its from the same era truck(88-00) it will bolt right in

Re: DRW to SRW Questionnaire

You need to do a bit other than unbolting the spacers from a 4WD, although the bolts are same size and pitch, they're not lug bolts. Easy to swap out with a press, though.
