72 1 ton Dually....what's it worth?

I'm goin to check out a 72 1 ton dually flat bed tomorrow. It has a 350 with a 4 speed manual with a granny gear. He says everything works on it and will even help me replace all the wood in the bed (with his lumber and stain, it's my barber and turning into a good friend, lets me store my parts out at his place and use his shop) The clutch is good, it has the ORIGINAL radio in it...the dash has not been hacked!!! it's a heat truck..i think. will check on that. power disc brakes, power steering. He's askin 1500, I think it's worth it. But haven't seen it. What do you all think? If I don't get it, i'll post pics and a number for you all.

if it hasn't been beat to death, then I say it sounds like a good deal.

In case you are thinking of putting a bad on it, you won't be able to slap a regular long bed on there. If it is the 133 inch wheel base, then you can get an 8 1/2 foot longhorn bed, or a 9 foot step side bed.

Went to look at it. Forgot the camera. It needs one cab corner, one rocker. Engine runs good, but doesn't look all that pretty. It's got surface rust. For 1200 he said he would help me replace the bed, he has some good fenders and a really good grille he would throw in. So i would need a winshield, dash pad, seat, and some TLC to take care of the cosmetics....good deal or no?

1200 bucks and you can drive it home... sounds like a winner IF a one ton flat bed is what you want.

I think i'm gonna get it. He said if i buy it, he'll help me fix it up real nice. So doesn't sound like a half bad deal, get a good start for a project, a place to work on it, AND help from an expierienced person....

He likes to buy them, fix the small stuff that don't cost money just time, and sell them for a profit. Thanks yall.

haha, yeah, i'll remember this time. Trip turned out bad, got a ticket on the way home, and it wasn't the way i usually take home. Then tonight MY 70 chevy stopped running, acted like the alternater went out, lights went out and wouldn't start back up. But i don't think it's the alternator. SO, i gotta get it home tomorrow and tear into it. Hopefully i'll figure it out soon.
