Question New hood hinges - do they need grease

I just installed new aftermarket hood hinges and
NOS GM springs yesterday. But was wondering if
they need greased at the pivot points?

I would grease the pivot points as well as where the springs contact the hinge. White lithium grease should work ok. I bought a pair of reproduction hood hinges and they are junk IMO. The stamping is very poor and the metal seems very thin. I found a website that sells nos GM hinges. I'm getting those and trashing the re-pops.

I also got a set of N.O.S hinges They were 200 dollars Cdn for the pair. Kinda steep but repo was the same price. Just another cost though.

Later Mario

Thanks guys. I guess I should have just done it
before I installed them.

I had waited to save extra $ for GM hinges
but when I went to get them, they were out.
I hope these aftermarket hinges last.

Here is a link where you can buy hood hinges and many other restoration parts. I've bought alot of stuff from them. Great service, awesome prices. Just click on the restoration tab and it will take you from there.http://www.gmpartsdirect.com//cart.c...TOKEN=13871937
