por15 on my chome! how do i remove?

Anyone know how to remove por15 from chrome after it dries? i painted the inside of my bumper with por15 and i worked its way under some of the tape and dried. The only thing i can think of is to heat it up real good and try to wipe or scrape it off. Any ideas?

It's pretty tough, razor blade maybe? Chrome is pretty slick, I would think the adhesion wouldn't be as good.

As tough and hard as it is, POR-15 can be removed with a good quality paint stripper. The POR-15 people make their own version, but it can be removed with other brands. --Rob

I had some undercoating over spray on my chrome bumper. I used laquer thinner and some stuff called Nevr Dull that my uncle told me about. It's a cotton wad substance that works great for polishing metal. The under coating came right off with a little elbow grease.

Re: por15 on my chome! how do i remove?

I bought a Buick for parts and the PO had coated the outside of the front fenders in POR15. I ended up using Aircraft Stripper to remove it, worked pretty damn well too. I would imagine that if the chrome underneath is in decent condition, a good chemical stripper oughta clean it off pretty effectively.
