Re: crew cab short bed
I want to buy this one so bad but, I don't think it will pass smog in California. This is a steal.

Re: crew cab short bed
I agree if you build it yourself you end up with the truck you wanted

Re: crew cab short bed
The '88 - '98 frames are so dang hard to modify as compared to the squarebody stuff since the frame rails aren't straight.
That said, I build all my own, just like I like 'em. |

Re: crew cab short bed
a kid i know 10-15yrs ago was building his own because him and his dad both liked them and they owned a body shop /repair shop and then people kept buying them from them i think he built 5-6 of them total. He started with a long box extended cab frame he said they were same wheel base all you had to do was cut and move the back cab mounts back or use ones off a extended cab sb because they were notched for the leaf spring already and use the tank from an extended cab shortbox. the only bad part at that time was buying wrecked one and they then had salvage titles when they were done if you ever wanted to resell it in the future

Re: crew cab short bed
Here's a sweeeeet one for sale locally, could be had for less than $10K. Less than 140K on the ticker, about 8K on a rebuilt engine, less on the 4L80E. This is as nice as I've seen. I can get more pics from the owner.
