67 thru 70 vs 71/72 control arm question

I have a 1968 c-10. It has 72 control arm/disc brakes on the front. I would like to use the 67-70 spindles because there seems to be more after market brakes for those years, (Wilwood, Baer). Can i use the 72 control arms that I have now with a simple ball joint change?
