64 C10 saginaw power steering pump
Hello,
After replacing the power steering gear, I noticed that I needed to replace the saginaw pump. Since the prior owner has passed, I do not know what pump part number I should use. I cannot get a part number off of the pump either. Does anyone have an idea what type of pump I can use? I know that Cardone has parts 20-300 through 20-302. I was not sure about these since the web site refers to C4 and C5 series trucks. Any insight would be appreciated. Eddie |

What engine is in your truck? Do you happen to have a pic you could post?

I rebuilt mine about a month ago. advanceauto part had the rebuild kit.
even came with the bushing. part # 7910 (powercraft) is the manufacture. it has several different seals to cover different years. this is the pump I have. larry |

Re: 64 C10 saginaw power steering pump
Many thanks for the photo. Just today I got the a Saginaw pump that looks exactly like yours. I had to return the other (non-Saginaw) pump.
I got so involved with the power steering gear replacement that I got lazy and asked my mechanic to deal with the pump since I could not get my hand down in the area to unbolt things. I darn near could not get a wrench down there well either. I just ran out of gas at that point. Another thing that was a bit interesting and irritating was that I had to change the brake hoses. Now that part is not irritating in itself. But what was was the fact that the 3/16th brake line did not mate up with the 1/4 inch hose. What was on the truck were brake hoses with a 3/16th end for the 3/16th brake line. But if you order a brake hose for a 64 C10, you wind up getting a 1/4 inch hose. So my guess is that maybe the brake hose I replaced was for some other application that does have a 3/16 inch end. I did not determine which application it was. I elected to put a small extension (1/4 inch male on one end; and 3/16 inch female piece on the other end). Appreciate again your response and picture. Eddie |

I have pictures unfortunately on my non-smart phone that does not have internet service. So I cannot even send them to you or myself.
I would have to use my digital camera to take some pics. Eddie |
