help
Can someone please tell me what this relay is behind the transmission dipstick is? I am also curious as to why there is no wires coming off of it. Thanks.

Is yours a 70 with a v-8 3ott? I think it is a anti dieseling relay. I think it was a 70 thing if it is the one I am thinking of.

Yes, it is a 70 v 8. I am not familiar with the 3ott, what is that? What is a anti-dieseling relay?

That would be the abbreviation for three on the tree or commonly known as a column shift transmission I may be wrong but anti-dieseling is when you shut of the engine with the key an it continues to run It kind of sounds like a diesel

Ok, thanks. I don't have a 3 ott, so is that why nothing is hooked up to it? Or should there be something there?

Its a TCS (transmission controlled spark) relay. Basically it denied spark/ignition advance in lower gears. An emission control device that has probably been disabled for a long time by someone who never understood how the system worked or why.
