64 stance
I have everything to swap a 73-87 crossmember into my 64 except for spindles and springs. I'd like to maintian the same static drop on my truck but the previous owner heated the springs to lowwer the truck. How would I achieve this same ride height with the use of drop spindles and drop springs? (What combination of drops). The tires are 235s.

Re: 64 stance
This came up in another thread not long ago. I think the use of 2 1/2" spindles and 2" springs was the starting point. Front weight can have an effect and all the trucks are different.

Re: 64 stance
I would measure form the lip of the front fender to the center of the spindle. Then find out what that distance is on a stock height truck. Then you will know how much the truck is lowered and purchase the right spindle and coils to get the same height. What I don't understand is why you would want to put a new cross member in. I think you can install the stuff you have on the 73-87 crossmember onto your old cross member. I have never done it but I know there is a thread on here explaining how. Or you can just order a set of drop spindles for your curent cross member and use the disks from the new one. I would check with the manufacturer but I think 73-87 is where they get there disk size from to begin with (at least CPP does). I think a 4.5 inch drop will measure 14 inches.

Re: 64 stance
Mine is a 4.5/6 drop. I have 235/60 up front and 275/60 in the rear. Mine seems to have a little more rake than what I see i up front.n yours so I am thinking yours might be the 3.5 (2.5" spindle, 1" spring) for the front and the 6 for the rear.

Re: 64 stance
Thanks for the help guys. I ended up ordering 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop springs. If it ends up lowwer than I am now I won't be disappointed. I'll let y'all know how it matches up to what I had.

Yes, please post pics of the 2.5 spindles and 2 inch springs! What are you doing for the rear?

Re: 64 stance
Currently running 15s with 235/75 and I think I'm going to stay with this combination. Just have to switch to 5 lug up front.

Re: 64 stance
The rear has a hacked air bag setup from a previous owner, I've never really been happy with it. I'm going to get the front squared away first then move onto the rear.
