Hood to Cowl Seal help

Howdy folks,

i need some help/guidance on how my hood to cowl seal fits on my 2nd series 55 truck......

this is the seal i have......

now,i am not sure which way it fits to the cowl itself

is it like this...........

or like this.........

or does it fit some other way?


When i had the truck painted the painter removed the old one so i didnt see how it went....


these are the clips i have to secure the seal.....

The seal itself i think is made by Fargo.


May seem obvious or silly but i would just like to make sure i get it right.

I didn't put the seal on myself, but while browsing the SteelRubber site, I saw this picture :

it's like your first photo, with the clips pushed trougth the rubber ...

Picture two is correct, flat down opening toward the windshield

as stated pic #2 is correct
those clips are junk, i tried to use them and mostly they just broke
i have 2 clips on each end and just use weather strip glue to fasten it down

i must have been lucky Ogre....because the clips went in fine with a little tap from the handle of rubber handled hammer.....

however,i shall keep an eye on them and see how they go.
