Question Whats the spring under the seat for?

In my 68 C10 I have a spring about 12-15 inches long that is hooked to the floor under the seat. The loose end has a piece attached to it that looks like a closed up horse shoe. I assume it attaches to the seat but even after taking the seat out I cant see where it would connect. Its the stock seat. Anyone with experience and or a digital camera that can shead some light?
Thanks again!!!!

I dont think so. There is a small spring under the seat on the far passengers side that secures the bottle jack to the floor. This spring is in the middle of the truck and about 14 inches long.

But to be hones with you I have no clue whats its for since its not connected and I cant tell where to connect it to.

I am thinking that it is for the release latches on each rail of the seat. There should also be a funny looking rod under there also.

The rod seems connect each of the mounts to the leaver that releases the seat.

But I dont see where to connect the spring. Your probably right that thats what its for....
