Re: No tail lights help please

Check your wiring connection at your the tail of the truck. There is a junction connection that is prone to rusting. Also do you have a trailer wiring harness? If you do disconnect that first to eliminate that as a potential issue. Also it maybe dumb luck that both of the bulb filaments that are designated for the taillights burned out at the same time.

Re: No tail lights help please

I had the same issue with mine when I go it too. The PO did some hacking on the wires and I had a broken wire right behind the cab, took me using a multimeter to find it. If your dash lights work still then its either a bad bulb or broken wires but without dash lights I would check the fuse and if that's good than its probly the switch

Re: No tail lights help please

start at the switch. then work back. make sure you have power on both sides with the brake down. if yes check to see if you have power in back then ground. there is a ground behind drivers tail light that likes to rust off on these trucks and you get all kinds of weird light problems

Re: No tail lights help please

There are 2 circuits.
Brakes, blinkers, hazards, and turn signals all are on the bright circuit.
Parking lights, which are the dim circuit seem to be out on your truck.
Start by getting a voltmeter or DVM, and understanding that voltage is measured to ground, or a metal part of the vehicle.
Parking lights are controlled by the pull switch, and the circuit ends at the light socket. The problem is between the two.
The point is, there's a path for the electrons to follow from the battery + back to the battery -. How tough is it to follow the path and find the fault? You are aware that the parking lights are turned on by the light switch?

Re: No tail lights help please

im having issue with my brake lights. It started with a battery leak,(sulfer) so I replaced battery cuz it was bad. Then Was advised it was the alternator. Replace that. Was still leaking sulfer, so was advised to replace the voltage regulator on fire wall. Finally, battery being charged at 12v, and alternator is fine as well. But now my brake lights are out. Regular tail lights work but brake lights are out. Any suggestions? Thanks
