How far before C-notch?

Starting to plan to lower our '60 short fleetside. How far can we go before a c-notch is necessary? The only thing we have coming so far is a set blocks - forget if they are 1.5 or 2", thanks-

Re: How far before C-notch?

I have 5" in my 66 with no notch. I just trimmed the bump stop.

Re: How far before C-notch?

Bags aired out, shocks and bed wood limited. So 6 to 7 inch. I am still not all the way inside notch.

Re: How far before C-notch?

At 5", you're OK but just don't overload the bed with weight. At 6", you are super-close and you have to be careful when you drive it and you'll still hit the bumpstops on occasion. At 7", you have to notch it.

I'd play it safe, and as LVPhotos says, run a notch if you're at a 6" drop or lower.

Re: How far before C-notch?

I'm at 4 inches and have no problems. I can haul small loads without any issues.
