Rear Suspension?

What are advantages/disadvantages to rear coil/leaf spring suspensions?

GMC had leafs, Chevy had coils, but you could get either in either style. Coils give a lot better ride and is a more popular design for these trucks. More options for modification also. And if you are looking for a leaf rear end they are hard to find. I am looking for one in a 3:07 posi for my 70. Cant find one yet. 70short/step

GMC did not always have standard leafs...just some years. GMC Paul has the info on that.
I know my 69 GMC has coils and no referance to them on the spid label in the glove box, same as my friend's 69 GMC.
