100% chevy fan from Louisiana
I have a 1987 Silverado with a 385 fastburn 350cid crate engine topped off with the Pro flow 2 MPFI from Edelbrock, a fresh 700r4, and 3.73s in the rear matched up with a detriot locker. I have been working on this truck for a while now. I work over seas and my time is limited. While I am at work I dream of things to do to this truck. I havent got the fuel injection fine tuned but I am considering a dyno. I am looking to upgrade to wideband o2s before dyno tunning. I am still working on cosmetics. I am working on the interior at the moment. I have all the sound deadner and components but they need some match work done to them. For the body...I have a decent paint job on it but still need a stripe on the upper seam of the two tone. I been seriously considering the factory stripe. I will be looking at all you guys rides for ideas. I look forward to being in the chevy truck family with yawl. Hope I can help along the way. WOW I cant believe the information and pics I have seen so far.

Re: 100% chevy fan from Louisiana
As soon as I get back home I will take some pics and round up a few from the beginning. The truck body was decent without any rust. It did have some bent fenders and doors. Instead of body filler I just replaced them. Not the best move considering the adjustments that had to be done with aftermarket parts. The complete front clip had to be changed, new bumpers, every piece of rubber has been replaced on..in...under...around, all new body bushings, all new steering components, crate engine, rebuilt 88 700r4, and a simple 2/2 drop. In the rear drop I used shackles only...I am thinking of changing the hangers to get that slight rake out of it. I have Junk Yard Dog Coddingtons 17x10 all the way around wrapped in BFGs. After looking here at all the big wheels it appears my 17s dont fill in the finder wells like most. I am not into dropping too much because I do live in Loiusiana. Drove through it lately? Roads are bad especially out in the country like I am. So, yea I did skimp in the suspension. I like my wheels but never again will I get aluminum! The truck isnt too much customized but it gets attention especially when people hear it. It sounds good. I cant believe how poular these ole square runners are. I have seen some real talent in this site. I am excited to be a part of it. Thanks for your help here. I just ordered all my interior components from Captchaos...Door panels, head liner, carpet, and a few other items from various companies. So, the interior will be my next project along with pin stripe. Neither will much over factory appeariance.

Re: 100% chevy fan from Louisiana
Nope I have never driven through Louisiana. I take your word for it.
I have a brand new Ford and they told me the other day that if I drive it on dirt then I void the warranty... guess there are no XR6 utes in Louisiana huh?

Re: 100% chevy fan from Louisiana
I would like to thank you guys/gal for the compliments. I look foward to looking at and providing many pics. I just have to get my hands on them. The one pic that I posted is the only one available. oh...I do have one with the bed off as I am doing my fuel line and fuel tank replacement for the new MPFI I just completed. I am smokin em down as it was very easy being no weight. People on here are very helpful and I hope to help to. I will get that pic posted shortly. Once again thanks for the great welcome!
