Bed sides metal vs wood floor
Are the bed sides of a pickup box the same for a steel floor and wood floor? Always thought they were different but talked to someone claiming they are the same.

Re: Bed sides metal vs wood floor
The front panel is different and I think some of the cross sills underneath might be too.

Bed sides are the same, but the header and rear crossmember(?) (forgot what it's called) are different. The rear piece I'm talking about is the part that is welded to the bedsides.

Re: Bed sides metal vs wood floor
So if you have the bedsides say off a woodbed box with a different header panel you could install on steel floor.

Re: Bed sides metal vs wood floor
Bedsides are the same for wood and steel floor. I would think all the cross sills are different by 3/4" I can check tomorrow if need be I have both available for looking at.
