Dash bezel tools-arg! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am wondering why I need 3 different 'tools' to remove the bezels from the switches that mount in the dash?
The ignition bezel needs a 3 pronged tool, the wiper nut needs a gapped, 2 pronged tool and the headlight switch needs a really wide screwdriver tip.
What engineer thought this up? Someone with a passion for obsolete tools?
The reason for wanting these switches out of the dash is for some wiring changes, and having them out from behind the dash will save my back.

All I used was needle nose plyers when I removed the switches in my truck. Some of them were just hand tight so it made them easy to remove.

One of the issues with hand tight is most of those switches ground through the dash, thus the need for correct tools for a very snug twist.
I found that answer from a co-worker who used to own a '65 C-10.

Well my question would be after removing wiring, lights and switches will the front trim piece and gauge cluster come out as one piece or do you have to separate the two pieces first to remove?

One peace if it is a 60-63 Chevy. I don't know about other years and GMC's
