My hood release cable broke on my 1991 suburban does anyone know how to open the hood

I haven't had one break before but I've got one at home I can take a pic of for you to show how to pop it with a screwdriver. I can see the 79 latch in my head better than the 85 right now. I'm pretty sure it's just a hook that needs to be slid left with a thin screwdriver.
