This isn't mine, but I wish it was. Not sure why but I've developed a thing for Fire Trucks the last few years. From the description, it appears to have some historical significance, one of ones built with a chain drive.

Only 143 400-series SENIOR trucks were made and only SEVENTEEN of these were chain drive. THIS IS THE THIRD LAST ONE BUILT . The last 2 went to Brookline Mass. and I do not know if either of those has survived.

One of only a handful known to exist and considered by many to be the most beautiful of all fire trucks. As far as my research tells me this truck was one of only 3 big 400 series assembled at the Toronto factory , this one being the only chain drive. It served it's time with the Northern Quebec mining town of Rouyn. An Ontario collector had it trucked from Rouyn and stored in a barn approximately 30 years ago. Ten years ago he passed. I recently purchased the truck with great intentions but health reasons are forcing a sale.

I cleaned out the sump and attached are photos of the jewel like v12 crank and aircraft type tubular connecting rods etc. The engine is a massive 754 cubic inch narrow angle ( 30 degree) vee twelve overhead cam ! It has 4 distributors and twin plugs per cylinder. Twin huge twin updraught Stromberg carbs. There is a spare set of manifolds and carbs. There is also one spare front fender. I have the front bumper but it is bent and missing the little "bumperettes"

The engine turns smoothly . The generator is missing . I have many early generators which the purchaser can choose from if one is deemed appropriate. I have the lighted siren , the front bell with v12 mascot and the rad cap and the 3 correct spotlights, headlights less lenses but again I have many NOS pre war lenses to choose from if a set is found to be correct and will be include. , one axe, one nozzle, extra fire extinguisher brackets. 2 big hoses in excellent shape hand oiler etc. etc. some of these parts shown in the photos. The rear small hose reel is missing and one rear "rail" is damaged. I really love this truck but am afraid at my age I will not be able to do it justice.
