Thinking of selling, what should I ask 72 Suburban

My wife has run out of patience with my project. I think I'm going to sell it locally and wondering hoping to get some input on what I should ask. It's a 72 Suburban 3/4 ton 4x4. I have recently installed a 350 motor with about 15K on it, rebuilt the TH350, Transfer case and installed new 50 series flow masters and dual exhaust with stainless tips. I have a Vintage Air A/C that is not installed as well as a dash with the tachometer. Has new aluminum radiator, 40 gallon tank and off road tires with about 90% tread. Front and rear differentials were inspected for wear, new gaskets and filled royal purple case oil. Motor fires right up, runs strong and moves this heavy beast with ease. Still some tuning to do. Interior has new carpet, seats could use recovered, needs headliner. Body has rust on rear quarter panels, and on some of the doors. Have replacement metal for the doors. Also have a donor body I purchased, above molding is immaculate, some minor rust as in pics below molding but overall is in amazing shape and requires little. It is for a 2 wheel drive, so some tunnel modification would be required to fit over the transfer case, I think. Any input is appreciated. ThanksName: drivers side.jpg

Keep the burb, sell the wife Seriously though I'd ask plenty say 8k. Realistically I would expect between 3 to 5grand depending on how bad the rust is. BTW did that come outta So. OR?

I have no idea what its worth, if I was in the market for a 4x4 burb yours would be on the top of my list.

I am intrigued by you saying your wife has run out of patience with your project.

Had some momentum, but then it died off. Ran out of time, work kept me busy and she saw the money I was putting into it. I hate to sell, it as i put a lot of time and money in it already and love driving it. Just some other priorities right now.

Well then it sounds more like a what would be good for the family decision than strictly a wife is making me sell my truck thing. I can certainly understand that. Ill be watching this thread to see what you come up for on price.

Re: Thinking of selling, what should I ask 72 Suburban

You call that rust? Not here, (Wisconsin) I would refer to that parts truck as SOLID as far as vehicles that vintage go around here. Unless there is a lot of holes hidden under the primer on your driver, that is near mint by my standards.

Seriously, if you decide to sell your driver, advertise it in the Milwaukee and Chicago Clist. People around here resurrect much, much worse, and solid suburbans are a rarity.

I think the $8,000 would be a good asking price in this area, with 7-7.5 end result due to logistics of getting it home. Unfortunately you probably have more than that into it, it looks like the expensive stuff is done other than paint.

Good luck, Jim

I think the $3-5 g walk away is right. Rare burb, but burbs aren't desirable & are still a hard sell I find. There's been a few in WA that were for sale for a couple years between $6-8gs in similar shape but daily drivers. Not sure if they ever sold lol

I would tend to agree with the OP on blaming the wife.

My guess on value would be definately 8k for both burbs.

Thanks for the response, I listed it locally in Boise. I'll have to post in other cities. I have it listed for $6500
