Driveway cleanup
Looking for a little help here. I'm needing to clean up the drive way where I park my truck. Ive got a front and rear main seal leak that's making a mess on the concrete. Ive got to get the motor pullled and rebuilt as soon I as I get the extra cash. Until then I need to clean the driveway as much as possible. What has worked for you guys??

Re: Driveway cleanup
I have used Muriatic acid.
Be careful and don't let your pets walk through it until you have completed the cleanup. Happy wife equals a good life? |

Re: Driveway cleanup
I used pour and restore. It may take a couple of applications if the oil build up is heavy or saturated.

Re: Driveway cleanup
just a regular old power wash for the afternoon seems to work wonders by itself

Re: Driveway cleanup
Yep, pressure wash if you have one.
Scrape off the excess and wet Tide powder under wet newspaper may get rid of a lot of what's left. Let it sit. Acid isn't so good til the oil is gone. Phosphoric acid (prep and etch) is slow to hurt people, but eats concrete. |

Re: Driveway cleanup
I have done the oil dry 2 step and then pressure washed and had decent luck. By 2 step I mean I ground the oil dry in with my boots and then swept it up.

Re: Driveway cleanup
Some of you that have short memories or just plain didn't see this thread. My cow patty remark wasn't a sad attempt at humor. It was actually a discussion on this very topic. I think Daddy O got my drift.

Re: Driveway cleanup
Problem is a lot of us don't have a yard full of cattle that we can let Drop their magic on our concrete! We have to use a alternate way to clean it.

Re: Driveway cleanup
I agree with the both of you ^^^^
We just had this conversation a while back on here and Cow crap was the winner,, I thought . Here's the formula 2-5 shovels of cow crap depending on how large the area is you want to clean ( the soggy kind is best ,,you know with lots of cow pee in it) ..directions ,,take a scrub brush ( you decide one with a long handle or if you like no handle ) and scrub the cow pie mix around and around until you have scrub the whole area where the spot is.. let it set for an hour or so and then wash it all down the drain .. that's it.. if you need more info please call boatpuller or Daddy O ,,Im headin to bed..
