Best 3/5 drop with spindles

I'm new to the website but it looks great. I recently bought a 1970 shortbed with chevy front clip, I'm not the most mechanically inclined but I thought this would be a fun project to take on with my kids. As of now it sits stock but after doing a bit of research I've decided I'd like to go with a 3/5 drop. I like that stance the most and I'm not ready to notch the frame. After reading through a bunch of posts it seems that alot of people are happy with ECE sets.

My question is how can I get a 3/5 drop without cutting springs, I can only find 2.5" drop spindles and 1" shocks which would get me 3.5"

Thanks in advance for the help

Re: Best 3/5 drop with spindles

First off Welcome, we would love to see pics of your truck.

I did basically what you are looking to do but I have a Long bed.
Your 70 has drums up front unless they were swapped out.
If they are still drums you will need to swap to disks...
As for the 3/5 IMO 2.5/5 will most likely be close enough...
there is nothing overly difficult about doing the swap and drop, but I did have a friend that has been working on his own cars for 30 years so I was able to draw on his experience... We did all my suspension front and rear including the disk swap in a weekend.
What always gets me is the little things... new bushings in the trailing arms, new wheel bearings, new gear oil in the rear end, new u joints in the drive shaft while I'm at it... while I have the brakes broke open, might as well change the soft hoses... check the rear drums, make sure the E brake is tuned up... and on and on... at some point you have to draw the line...

Definitely call ECE they are great and will definitely be able to help... Ooh I forgot, definitely replace the ball joints unless they are brand new.

Re: Best 3/5 drop with spindles

Thanks for the welcome message and the reply, do you happen to have any pics of your truck with a 2.5/5 drop?

I'm kind of ahead of the game because I already have discs on the front. I'll try and add a pic of my truck but I'm on a new notebook computer that I am having trouble with, if this doesnt work I'll have to do it when I get home in a few days.
