I recently blew my motor in my 1979 Silverado and need the motor rebuilt or replaced with a crate 350. I have recently moved to Riverside, CA and haven't found a shop I like. Does anyone on here have a recommendation for a shop in the greater Riverside/Corona/Inland Empire? Thanks.

hey whats going on!

Im in the Riverside area.

I was looking around for a rebuild shop my self about a year ago.

For the prices that i got for a rebuild i would go for new crate 350.

I ended up buying a motor off of Craigslist for $150 and building that up.

Thanks for your reply tommartin. I agree that a crate 350 is a good deal, especially if a rebuild gets even close to $1000. I am seriously considering a crate 350, but I am not able to install it myself and would like to find a reputable shop to install it if I go that route.

I don't know of any shops...but I'm an OG from C-town now living in Riverside as well.

I'm in the high desert and have a good mechanic I can hook u up with. Plus a shop up here sells them. At work now will pm U after work with info

share the info brother... always good to know. My dad has a 283 from his belair that i have been think about rebuilding...

I would not bother with rebuilding it. Very few shops now take the time to do it right. Here is one I had build my big block when I was in high school 20 years ago. He does good work.

With that said I would recommend you go this route.

$1500 shipped for a 260 HP 350 ft lbs of torque 350 with 4 bold mains and a 3 year 100K mile warranty is very tough to beat budget wise.

BTW I was born and raised in Corona and graduated class of 96' from Corona. Now I am in San Bernardino. If you need a hand or some advice give me a shout.

I really appreciate the replies and suggestions. Now that I have recovered from the shock of killing my engine, I think a Crate 350 from Chevrolet Performance is probably the route I will take. But I will still need someone to install it. Any recommendations for a good shop to install a new Crate 350?
