Disc brakes on drum spindle ?

Has anyone heard of this on our trucks ?? I've seen it done in the chevelle forums.. I've searched here, but not much luck.. Sounds like a cheap way to have disc brakes... Thanks in advance...Kirk

Re: Disc brakes on drum spindle ?

If you could find caliper brackets I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. Redrill the hub for 5 lug and use a rotor/hat that slides on. Core3 or Captainfab brackets maybe?

Re: Disc brakes on drum spindle ?

I think POL or another company had a drum spindle conversion kit.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Another cheap way is getting the spindles/rotors/calipers, and center link from a 73-80 truck from a junkyard. You can buy the correct ball joints from a local parts house and install them in your existing control arms.
