72 W/ Vintage Air /NO HEAT
My truck has been done for a while now(late spring) and the shop put in Vintage Air but the heat never worked .I was not concerned with the heat issue until now as it is getting pretty cool .Does anyone have any suggestions to try to get the heat to work ?

I would start by bypassing the inline cut off in the heater hose. That way there will be hot water circulating through the heater core. I will say it takes a long time to get heat out of my 72 factory air truck with Vinage Air.

I have not really tried it yet since its not been cold enough to need it so it may heat up fine ,we shall see .

What thermostat are you running? I would think you need 190 to get any real heat out of the vents.

I dont remember what thermostat is in it but I do have a 190 out in my shop.

I've got a 180* in my 57 with vintage air and it will run you out of the truck. Sounds dumb but you may check to see if the hoses are hooked up to the intake correctly. If it's hooked up on two returns you won't have heat. I've got the pressure side coming from the front intake bung on the passenger side and the return to the radiator. This like I said is all for my 57 but I'd be willing to bet the systems are probably similar at least to a certain degree.

I am having a similar issue. I noticed I can more heat if I let the truck warm up longer.

I had just the opposite problem at the beginning of the summer. I'm no stranger to VA, but this simple one had me...
...Hahahaha!!! Not enough cold. So, maybe your problem is related. With the Generation VA I have (runs with cables) the heater hose valve is a little tricky. Mine wouldn't fully close from the controls the way I had the cable adjusted. Looked like it was, but not ALL THE WAY closed. If you have the same Gen VA, maybe yours doesn't fully OPEN. As it shows in the pic, all the way left is hot water..... ...heat. All the way right is hot water cut off to the core....more cold.... Just a thought.

Check your heater lines. I just fixed mine. Intake hose and water pump hose was backwards.
