GMT400 HVAC conversion
Has any body done a conversion on the squarebody truck to use a GMT400 HVAC unit? I'm thinking about trying this, just looking at pictures it seems doable. I would like to clean up the firewall on my crew cab, I also may need room for a Whipple on my Vortec 454 manifold!!

Re: GMT400 HVAC conversion
Why not get a vintage air kit for it?The gmt400 might work but its not a bolt in so its gonna take time to make it work and its used,A 20 year old ac system isn't going to work like a brand new one.

Re: GMT400 HVAC conversion
I've installed a number of Vintage Air Gen IV systems in customer cars and have not been overly impressed with them. I have had a GMT400 crew cab also and the cooling and heating system is plenty for that size cab. I'm also not scared of some fabrication (or a lot if needed).

Re: GMT400 HVAC conversion
Not real sure what your after, I recently used a kit from kwik performance, that uses the small block accessories brackets. I used the brackets off of a 89 full size jimmy, as well as the A/C compressor, and lines.
