Question lowering springs??

I would like to lower the front of my truck about five inches... Is it possible to do this by just cutting the coils ???

Re: lowering springs??

Dropping the front by cutting the springs will affect ride. Dropping by more than 2 in will create a nightmare to align. I don't remember how much one coil will lower but if you search the info is somewhere on the board. For a 72 drop spindles will run about $300 and then a 2 in drop spring would net you 4 1/2 in drop, but you will not get that much lower because your factory springs have probably sagged. There are a lot of lowering threads, from a couple of inches to full on lay frame. Do a search and read thru some of the problems/benefits of each. New springs can be had for $100 or so an end in almost any drop. Also keep in mind too much spring drop in the front can leave the springs loose in their retaining seats.
