2WD Lift kit ?

Is there anyone out there lifting 2 wheel drive suspensions on these older trucks? I've seen it done on some newer ones to look like off road racers (prerunners I've heard them called), but I have not seen it done to a '67 C10.

I realize that everyone has their own vision of what a truck should look like, and that's cool. It does seem like all the 4x4's are lifted and all the 2WD's are dropped to the ground. I'd like to see my 2WD C10 sit up just a little, maybe 2 inches or so above stock, and some taller tires along with that. I can't be the first to want this, right?

To be clear, I'm not talking about big, crazy modifications, or some sick desert racer.

Anyway, here's my question: Are there any parts available to do this?

short answer: nope
but you can get springs for a heavy duty big block C30 to lift the front end up a couple inches. (more than that if you are on 40 year old springs now) And shackles or blocks in the rear end. Other than that its custom..

I like your idea of bigger springs. I was going to put fresh coils under all four corners, anyway. I wonder if longer springs exist without a heavier spring rate. I don't really want a rough ride. Blocking up the springs might also be a possibility. Blocking up the body might also work.

Looking at 2WD lift kits for other trucks, I've seen both extended springs and coil spacers. Rough Country offers these for 2WD Chevys 1988 and newer. I am inclined to believe coil spacers could work on my '67 C10. Might the Rough Country spacers fit? If not, maybe I could fabricate some.

Can big tall springs made for some other application, possibly be cut down to fit?

Air bags?

With coils your easiest route will be the coil spacers. If I remember right folks run tj wra gler springs to lower. If have to see if I could run their spacers above your coils

Perhaps maybe you should look at lift spindles as well?? Dino on here lifted his 60-66 2wd...

When they stopped making 7.00 x 17.5 LT bias ply tires, and I had to 'jump up' to 8.00 x 17.5 on the OED [SPID noted] 17.5 x 5.25 Rims --I found I had an extra inch of "Lift". Bigger tires with more circumferance were cooler. My speedo was off- true , but I liked the increased torque. Beefier shocks completed the "Lift Kit". I remember my mechanic gave me a catalog for a crash part company, and there were all manner of silicon/polyurethane spacers to shim up springs, also stiffer or taller spring coils for sale.

When I did front disc conversion on my C20 I changed out the front springs. I installed some HD springs (P/N 2772074) bought from NAPA. Tires do not rub at all. They are 285/70-17 tires with H2 Hummer wheels. The ride is somewhat stiff, but hey it's a 3/4 ton truck. Here's a comparison of the springs:

I recently saw a thread in the FAQ section about "easy disk brake swap" and it had some interesting info which leads me to believe there is a way. Two members had successfully swapped 88 & 90 spindles, rotors, brakes, ect. directly onto their stock arms. In theory you may be able to use lift spindles for a 88up if you are willing to do the work.

I never got around to changing the rear springs. They're probably just older original (stock) C20 springs.
