1960 frame help
Ok guys needs some help and hopefully some pics ....I have a 60 apache and I changed the front suspension to that of an 85 silverado getting rid of the torsion bar setup...how do I add a power steering gear box to the front of the frame and what all is involved? ...but most importantly I am dropping in a 327 and a 700r4. ..truck was a factory 4 speed..what do I use for a transmission cross member and how far back do they need mounted....any help is greatly appreciated. ...sorry I'm new to the 60 - 66 world always did 67-72s

To add power steering, you will need an adapter plate to mount the box to the frame. The '60-'62's use a different plate than the '63-'66's due to the different frame. Although the '63-'66 plates can work with a little added effort on your part. As for the trans crossmember, there are no aftermarket crossmembers for the '60-'62's. You will have to fabricate one unless you are lucky enough to find an original '60-'62 trans crossmember. There are a set of 3 holes on each side of the X where the factory crossmember bolted up.
