Silverado to C/10 Swap
I've been trying to piece together what all this swap will entail by reading all the swap posts, but they seem to dance around my project without being clear, so I thought I would just ask.
I have a 2005 Silverado single cab with an 6.0l/auto 2WD with about 97k miles on it. I have a 1969 C/10 SWB with 87 front spindles, lt1, 700r4, also 2WD. Based on what I have researched, and by looking at both trucks, it seems like I can just unbolt the engine, transmission, and rear end from the 07, and bolt it into the 1969. Bolt up the front suspension, and what works from the rear, and I'll be good to go. The LT1 and 700r4 went really easy, so I hope this will too. Is it as easy as it looks to be, or am I missing something. Obviously, Murphy will stick his head out, but other than that? |

What about track width. I think the newer truck's suspension might be too wide. Break out the tape measure.

I think I'll stick with the upgrading the current suspension and axle, and only swap over the engine, transmission, PCM, etc.
Anyone know what else that I can use? |

Thanks for the info. I had seen a lot of resources on doing the drivetrain swap, but wanted to make sure I was getting every last thing that I could use off the donor truck. Even seats, gauge cluster, etc. |

while your lt engine was a slam dunk the ls is more involved , motor mount plates , and ac compressor to frame interference , exhaust issues ,trany cross member relocation or replacement with aftermarket {recommended} , drive-shaft , and computer , and engine wiring are a short list
the diferances between just 05 and 07 are significant , you listed both years

It's a 2005. I thought I could buy an exhaust made for the swap, motor mounts, and cross member all made just for this particular swap.

The suspension will not help you in any way with out lots of fab work, read lots of $$$. The seats of course will fit but if your bigger than the average guy they will sit too high to help cause the steering wheel will be in the way. Lots of parts will help you though. Good luck Jim
