Re: 1971 C30 Stepside
Congrats! That is an awesome truck, but I have to say I am one of the minority that loves long bed stepsides.

Re: 1971 C30 Stepside
So is the C-30 considered a 1 ton? What bed floor did they come with, wood, metal or both available?

Re: 1971 C30 Stepside
Yup, it's a 1 ton. PIA to find literature on but parts have been easy to get so far. This one has the wood slats. I hear it was advertised as "grain tight". Meaning you could fill it with grain and not lose any on the way home and also because it was easy to remove the grain.

So far, complete new brakes, drums, rotors and wheel cylinders. new front bearings, new hoses, new shocks, new plugs, new distributer cap and rotor, fuel pump and fuel filter, new 3 pt seat belts and power washed 30 years worth of Goo off the engine and tranny. I can see all the bolts now.

Re: 1971 C30 Stepside
Grrrr' now my brake light won't go off. I've followed the instructions from the Chilton manual, held the pin in and bled the front and rear brakes then bled them from the combination valve for good measure, still won't go off.
Any suggestions ? |

Very cool - I've never seen a long step C30!
