Shipping Parts?

Any recommendations or ideas for shipping a truck bed from California to Nebraska? I tried Uship but have not had any response. Thanks!

Re: Shipping Parts?

Is it just the bed? Most transport companies have carriers designed so that cars can be driven or rolled into place, which wouldn't work very well for a truck bed--that might be why you haven't heard anything. Look for one that moves non-running vehicles, they would probably be able to do it.

Try Greyhound bus lines.

Re: Shipping Parts?

Depending on where you are in Nebraska and where the bed is in Ca., it is not that big of a drive. My daughter-in-Law does it 2X a year with her Children. Sacramento area to Grand Island and back.

Re: Shipping Parts?

I shipped a cab with YRC freight company. From Nevada to Michigan, just strapped it to a pallet.

Re: Shipping Parts?

Remember the amount? I was quoted $850 on ABF with corporate discount.

San Diego area, a long way from here. I have a couple other shippers working a deal.

Re: Shipping Parts?

Yep, quite a ways away. Are truck beds that hard to find there or are most just messed up?

Re: Shipping Parts?

Most are rusty or wrecked. Seems like I saw them when I wasn't in need but now can't find a good one.

Good tailgates are even harder to find.

Re: Shipping Parts?

Exactly what are you looking for?
Year?
Short bed or Long bed?
Step side or Fleet side?

I could guess by your login and avatar, but!!!! It might not be for that truck.

Maybe someone on here knows of one closer.

Re: Shipping Parts?

Longbed Fleetside. I am not in a hurry, so I'll wait and one will surface. Prefer rust free original over new repop. My original is wrecked on passenger side from PO and some rust on drivers side, and of course needs new floor.
