Exclamation Abit of problems with the I6

Alright, here is the problems. I've already broke 3 bolts trying to remove the exhaust from the I6. its a later model I6 with Duel Exhaust. Now I don't know where it came from but when I did drive it, the engine was pulled from a 1980 C10 Chevy. I have now placed it into my 3/4 ton 73 until I rebuild my 370hp v8 350 stock motor. When re-installing the rest of the exhaust one of the bolts broke when I removed it from the cast iron. I am also sure that someone changed the top from the motor.

Re: Abit of problems with the I6

Are you heating them up before trying to remove them? I try to get the engine warmed up first before I try any of bolts when doing a job like that. But it sounds like your engine is not running yet?

The engine runs great to be exact for a I6. But I will be having a torch brought to me here on saturday so we will see how it goes.

Re: Abit of problems with the I6

Just run it to operating temp and then try to bust them loose.

Damn I hate thieves. Especially when they are your own family.
I'd be sorely tempted to rearrange his noggin with a 4x4 fencepost but that's not a good idea.
Some zero dark thirty mechanical work may be in order. 2 quarts of Sodium Silicate solution in his oil pan would shortly remove his immediate need for fuel...

Hatzie, its alright. I already left his 91 toyota truck on bricks. Removed his wheels and put them up. Then removed the rear axle and placed it in slue behind my house. were all good here.
